Josh Urich aka URICH, is a singer-songwriter whose songs ride the line between intimate vulnerability and confident grit.
A multi-instrumentalist/songwriter from San Diego, CA and based in LA, he earned his Bachelor’s in Commercial Music at
PLNU in 2023 and is a 2024 San Diego Music Award Nominee.
Whether it’s gripping tight to a vice or a toxic relationship, Urich’s latest single, “I Can’t Go On” displays the vicious push-and-pull of codependency. Stuck in dichotomy, you know what you’re holding on to is terrible for you but you can’t let go.
Reaching new heights, Urich received a music credit this year in the 2024 film, “Wages of Sin”
for his guitar work on “Love Till The End of Time” by Steven Yeaman.
Influenced over the last couple years by bands like Title Fight, Citizen, Sweet Pill, and Modern Color, his sound
has been pushing closer to Dreamo and Shoegaze, while still maintaining the unique Josh Urich flair.
Released in March of 2023, his first album, "I Wonder If They Like Me" (Best Indie/Alternative Album San Diego Music Awards 2024 Nominee), is a deep dive into himself. He explores faults, insecurities, struggles, and redemption in growth as a human being and musician. With the help of amazing mix-engineer/producer, Josh Goode, who he met in college, the album was polished and completed. This album lives somewhere between indie, rock, and pop, and that fine balance is what makes the Josh Urich sound.
